Written exam conducted in two phases, preliminary exam and main exam. Prelims exam is qualifying purpose exam for main exam. prelims marks will not be considered for final selection. SBI PO Prelims Syllabus and Pattern 2016:
SBI PO preliminary online exam is objective test for 100 marks in 1 hour duration. Question paper comprises 3 sections General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning ability. 30 questions asked in English and 35 questions asked in each aptitude and reasoning sections. Click on the below SBI PO Prelims syllabus link for topic wise questions and important topics. Each question carry 1 mark. There is a negative marking also and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must have to qualify in each section and overall. Sectional wise cut off marks and overall cutoff marks will be released after examination. Approximately 20 times of the vacancies will be shortlisted for main exam.

SBI PO Main Syllabus and Pattern 2016:
After Prelims exam shortlisted candidates called for main exam. SBI PO main online exam is objective test for 200 marks in 3 hour duration (separate time duration for each section) and 50 marks for descriptive paper in 30 minutes. Objective paper comprises 4 sections, Reasoning and Computer aptitude, data analysis & interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness and English Language. Candidates must have to qualify in each section and overall. Candidates must have to complete each section in individual time period. Sectional cut off marks overall cutoff marks will decide the qualification of candidate.
