The JEE Main exam will consist of two papers.

- Aptitude Test
JEE Main 2016 Exam Pattern (Paper-1)
- JEE Main 2016 will be covering questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with equal weightage to all subjects.
- The JEE Main 2016 Question Paper will consist of three parts with equal weightage to all the three subjects. 30 questions from each subject will be asked making the total number of questions to be 90.
- Candidates will have to opt for the correct response for each question out of four responses given.
- The exam will be for 3 hours in duration.
- Each question will be allotted 4 marks. The question paper will be of total 360 marks.
- Each correct question will fetch 4 marks.
- Every wrong answer will result in deduction of one mark due to negative marking of ¼ (one fourth) of the total marks.
- Zero marks will be deducted for no answer.
JEE Main 2016 Exam Pattern (Paper-2)
The JEE Main 2016 Exam 2 will consist of three parts:
- Part I – Mathematics
- Part II – Aptitude Test
- Part III – Drawing Test
Note: Candidates have to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons. A card board or a clip board is also advisable.
